The big Japanese life insurers are reluctant to invest in nuclear weapons-related companies

Four major Japanese life insurers are not investing in or lending to nuclear weapons manufacturers or related companies, Kyodo News learned Saturday, as part of their socially responsible investing efforts.

The revelation comes as various lenders in Japan, Europe and the United States have refrained from investing in companies involved in the nuclear weapons industry.
