OneTeam Capital Hires Former CFO of Marlin Capital Solutions as CEO

OneTeam Capitalan underwriting and credit analysis firm that provides commercial financing solutions to small and medium-sized businesses, appointed W. Taylor Kamp as CEO.

Kamp has over 35 years of experience and most recently worked as CFO at Marlin Capital Solutions from 2015. In this role, Kamp was responsible for accounting, treasury, M&A, investor relations and strategic analysis. As co-architect of Marlin’s new technology-enabled strategy to increase returns on equipment leasing, working capital loans, insurance, and leverage the balance sheet, Kamp helped the company’s stock price more than double and daily stock trading volume quadruple. By introducing analytical and capital management techniques, he reduced capital requirements and returned capital to shareholders. He also completed Marlin’s largest securitization to date and completed Marlin’s first two acquisitions.

Prior to joining OneTeam Capital full-time, Kamp advised the company on various startup, funding and growth strategies for the last several months.

“Taylor is a proven leader with deep industry experience and extensive management experience in finance, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, credit, strategy and corporate governance,” said Andrew Jones, senior advisory director and member of OneTeam Capital.

“We are excited to have Taylor leading us into the next phase of our growth,” said Matt Sapnar, President of OneTeam Capital. “We believe he is the right person to build on our positive momentum given his extensive experience of successfully growing businesses that align with OneTeam Capital’s strategic goals and initiatives.”

Prior to Marlin, Kamp held various leadership positions during his 15-year career at CIT. These roles included global head of corporate development and M&A and interim CEO of home loans and sales financing. Kamp began his career in 1986 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and then spent 13 years at The Associates (now part of CitiBank) in various CFO roles including CFO of International Equipment Finance, CFO of Transportation Finance and CFO of Home Equity Finance.

“I am very excited to be joining OneTeam Capital,” said Kamp. “We have skilled management and are in a unique position to leverage relationships and technology in the digital financial marketplace to provide much-needed capital to America’s small businesses.”
