Mosaic Insurance strengthens its global claims management team

Industry expert Elissa Doroff has joined Mosaic Insurance to lead the company’s North American claims handling as it expands the core division globally.

A spokesperson said, “Based in New York, Doroff has been appointed Americas Claims Manager for Mosaic and over time will expand the scope of the unit to serve a wide geographic area encompassing the United States and Canada. His appointment follows another recent addition to Mosaic’s claims team, Rachel Haffenden, who joined the specialty insurer’s London office last month as a senior claims adjuster. The division has been led since the launch of Mosaic in February 2021 by Natalie Graham, an attorney who previously held senior roles at Syndicate 4000 and Aon.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Elissa and Rachel to the team,” Graham said. “They each bring a wealth of experience that enables Mosaic to provide highly technical, region-specific expertise as we partner with our policyholders through every stage of the claims process.”

Doroff has over 15 years of industry knowledge and will work with Mosaic brokers and policyholders across North America across the company’s six product lines. She started her insurance career as a claims advisor at AIG, then served as cyber and technology product manager at AXA XL. She also has extensive experience in corporate advisory and proactive risk mitigation through her tenure on the broker side, including roles at Marsh and Lockton. Prior to 2006, she began her tax legal career at Deloitte.

“Having worked on all aspects of the insurance equation, from claims and underwriting to product management and brokerage, I am excited to return to my true passion for insurance: claims,” said said Doroff. “I appreciate the opportunity to work with such a dynamic team of true industry pioneers. I look forward to contributing to the innovation and success of Mosaic.

Haffenden has handled leased line claims in the London market since 2009, most recently at a Lloyd’s syndicate where she handled complex claims in multiple jurisdictions.

“Key tenets of the Mosaic team philosophy are personal service and an integrated approach to claims management, integrating claims across all lines of business from the outset of policyholder and broker engagement “, said the company.

“Mosaic’s six specialty lines are selected for their high technical barriers to entry and their relevance to current and projected global market conditions. They include: cybersecurity, political risk, political violence, transactional liability, financial institutions and professional liability. »

“We have the in-house expertise to deal directly with our policyholders and brokers on the most complex claims,” Graham noted. “Of course, as an innovative company with pioneering insurtech, we automate as much as possible, but technology is only part of the puzzle. Our goal is to build lasting relationships with our policyholders and be available to provide advice before, during and after any claim.
